I guess every provider has its "horror story".
Rackspace suffering outages, DigitalOcean closing a personal site (if I recall correctly) for some dubious reasons, AWS having problems with EBS-EC2 interaction (again, not entirely sure of the details).
I'm still considering Rackspace as an alternative.
