  That was my reaction too. Unlike other chips which at least sit on some data buses and theoretically have electrical access to the information being processed by the PC, _this_ device is attached to little other than a DC power lead. To target this particular device as a data tap borders on science fiction. It's theoretically possible to glean bits of data from surges in power consumption, but not very practical.
