Good point; however, the basic construction of airplanes has remained the same since 1967. Software, unfortunately, changes constantly. Software engineers have become very talented at what does stay constant (just as aerospace engineers have) -- e.g. languages -- however, it is likely the always-evolving libraries and paradigms that cause most problems.
