My boyfriend had some issues with the Pro 1 keyboard along the lines of the grandparent comment, but MS was quick to replace his Type Cover and followup that the replacement worked properly. I'm quite happy with my Pro 2 as well, but I have no plans to purchase any of the covers when a Bluetooth keyboard can be had for 30 bucks.
