id Software, the subsidiary in question, is based in Texas. Oculus also has an office there (although not their main one). Obviously ZeniMax are going to pick the venue that they think they have the best chance of winning at, but in this case there are actually some pretty strong connections.
- thirsteh 12y agoAh, that makes a little more sense then. I was thinking they were just going for the "better" legal system.
- angersock 12y agoid was originally based in Mesquite, Tx. That's why there's a lot of dev houses (well, were, at any rate) in the Dallas area for game development. Oculus opened a branch office there (surprise!), probably for Carmack.
