- VikingCoder 12y agoYou go after the primary source of the information. Not the mechanically computed index of primary sources.
- gress 12y agoWhat justifies giving the searchers an advantage that the victims don't have?
- VikingCoder 12y agoThe victims are blaming the wrong person. The victims should blame the person who posted the information on the internet. DUH.
- gress 12y agoGoogle is duplicating the information just as the other sites have done. The difference is that it has far more reach.
- VikingCoder 12y agoSo, Duck Duck Go could legally index and show the same information? Should the law refer to Google by name? Or maybe by Market share? Number of searches per year? How EXACTLY should the law define "reach"?
- gress 12y agoThe law does apply to everyone, DDG included. Google just happens to be the largest offender.
- Goronmon 12y agoExcept in this case there was no defamation. The original news source is allowed to stay just as it is, Google (or anyone else) just isn't allowed to link to it.
