I noticed that the author is an "assistant professor of philosophy and religion." When I ran across this part of the article, I couldn't help but think of the philosophers bursting in on Deep Thought in HHGTTG:

I mean what's the use of our sitting up half the night arguing that there may or may not be a God if this machine only goes and gives us his bleeding phone number the next morning?"
