Ask HN: Quora tips?

I'm looking for advice on how to use Quora most effectively, is anyone here a power-user and would like to share their craft? Mostly, I'm looking for ways to minimize all the crap on the newsfeed, and have genuine questions with insightful answers to look at. I'm proficient in a few categories, but it seems to be that a lot of the Quora categories are flooded with people asking the same questions over and over again. Is it the case that smaller communities might provide better experience? Not expecting any response to this, but if someone knows their way around Quora, would be nice to hear it.
