Radiohead Leak Their New Track To BitTorrent
- Zev 17y agoIs it really a "leak" if its officially posted? Yay for sensationalism, by TorrentFreak, not the submitter though.
- rms 17y agoNo, it was a leak because it was uploaded to Bittorrent several days before the band posted it to their blog. The release included an almost parody of a scene .nfo file in the trademark cryptic, nearly meaningless style of Thom Yorke.
- daveungerer 17y agoI would go as far as saying the submitter should have removed the sensationalism by changing the title to "Radiohead Uses BitTorrent to Publish Track". A heading as boring as the article itself. The article almost seems like a parody, if you read this fan quote they included: “OMFG! This torrent is being redirected from the radiohead official store, so there’s no album, just this song finished, this is very edgy..."
- rms 17y ago72 hours before the band acknowledged that they uploaded the track to bittorrent, they uploaded it to what.cd bundled with a really neat .nfo file and let it propogate from them while refusing to make any statement about the purported "leak." That's the edgy part.
- Tichy 17y ago"But we’ve got this great idea for putting things out" Radiohead invented BitTorrent? ;-)
