Wouldn't a retailer just buy a large bulk with the discount you're mentioning and then resell for a profit? Presumably that's already happening but if the gap you speak of is large, then I'm surprised no one is jumping in to undercut the market.
- aaronem 12y agoIf there were enough people looking to purchase a single LTO-5 drive and a relative handful of cartridges, then, sure, that would make sense. Judging by the prices listed at the links I posted earlier, though, there aren't enough such people to make it worth any reseller's while, so the question reduces to that answered in my prior comment.
