I'd read that before, but I think I needed it today. Maybe someone should set up a cron job to submit that talk to HN every 3 months.

- jpwagner 17y agoOr to randomly choose one of PG's essays every month. This particular one was last posted almost two years ago.
- edw519 17y agoI have cut & pasted all of pg's essays onto my Palm pilot. Along with my bridge program and a bunch of other great content, I never have an excuse not to learn something. Whenever I sense that I'm getting stagnant, I always go back and reread old faithful, "Good and Bad Procrastination". http://www.paulgraham.com/procrastination.html http://www.paulgraham.com/procrastination.html (When someone invents an ebook reader that plays bridge, I'll make the switch.)
- mrshoe 17y agoStartup idea: present the user with 8 adjectives and ask them to pick the one which best describes their mood, then give them an optimal article to read as they start their day. We'd all be more successful if we could capitalize on our good moods and not let our bad moods drag us down for long.
- kirubakaran 17y agoI was doing something like this that I called "the ugh2yay project" (a webapp). I abandoned it after some time as I thought there is no real need for it as people will just talk to their friends to feel better. Do you think it will be useful? It had features like ability to save stuff when you are happy (say a hilarious lolcat) to be shown to you when you are not so happy etc...
- Zev 17y agoI don't know if that would be a good startup idea, but it would make for a nice side project to create on a weekend.
- wensing 17y agoWhich is exactly how many startups are born.
- TrevorJ 17y agoI really like that. Why don't you do that, but have it parse somebody's status updates for the keywords?
- andreyf 17y agoTwo years? Has it really been that long? I'm old :( and in need of moving on to new memes - any suggestions guys?
- iamwil 17y agoThere's a link to HN library at the footer. You can browse that at your own leisure.
