Ask HN: A startup for the "Coming soon" startup pages?
I came across the idea that a lot startups put out the COMING SOON page, with a email address to stay up-to-date with all the news, etc.
I'm wondering, has anyone taken the chance and turned this into a business? I think it's a brilliant idea.
- dcbrandao 17y agoLaunchSet.com sounds like what you're talking about.
- hajrice 17y agoNo, not really. I love what Danny did with LaunchSet, it's just not really what I'm pointing at. I mean imagine the software that is a combination of a Email newsletter along with some Comming soon page manager.
- jacquesm 17y agoOne problem is that a lot of those 'coming soon' pages eventually end up on sedo parking or something like it (or worse...). I'd rather have people announce stuff when it's ready to be test driven than all these pre-pre announcements. When you have a beta product it's about the right time, early alpha you usually keep quiet (to avoid embarrassment in case something badly malfunctions).
- dannyr 17y agoThanks for the shoutout to Launchset. Launchset is not doing startup pages. However, there's Launchsoon.com in this space.
