I am adamantly against narrow constitutional amendments, particularly those that take away rights rather than add to them. I agree the tax code is a mess. The way to fix it is to fix it, not apply indirect pressure. Unfortunately, most of the proposals that I have seen hit me, as a middle class self-employed developer, right in the pocketbook, e.g. take away the mortgage deduction, or propose some kind of regressive tax, like a national sales tax.
