I hope that more and more data becomes available around healthcare and outcomes! They are quite a bit better at this particular operation than anywhere else in the US, not surprising given how many more they do, however it is often difficult for patients to know or understand that - who should they trust? More data please! Interestingly this operation is one that Atul Gawande (who wrote this article in 2004) specializes in too.
