I don’t want to sound like a stuck record, but did he actually say that? My interpretation of his keynote was that he was “blindly pretending” that there are only negatives to test-first development, unit testing &c, which is just disingenuous as the scientism you’re highlighting. I dunno, maybe my biases are preventing me from understanding him properly.
