If I'm having a conversation with someone about a topic I know absolutely nothing about, I sound like an idiot. "What does that do?" "Who's that?" Also, this 'conversation' was very 1-sided because the author was trying to prove a point. It really didn't matter what the wife said throughout but it let him explain further and use some real world examples for those who may not GET it.
