I do agree it would have been logical and probably straightforward to integrate RSS into Google+, but to say it would have radically affected the success of the service is going too far. If anything, it would make RSS more compelling to those of us who never really liked the experience of any readers (Google Reader included). Personally, I see RSS as little more than food for web-robots to consume, metabolize, and excrete.
