Automated tweet for this article has a custom mjm.ag domain instead of bit.ly for first time. Not sure why that happened https://twitter.com/hnycombinator/statu

- nandhp 12y agoLooks like a (new?) bit.ly feature (pasting the long url into bit.ly gives the same domain); I'm guessing this is related to the Branded Short Domain feature of Bitly Brand Tools? https://bitly.com/a/features https://bitly.com/a/features
- evan_ 12y agoThat's part of bitly's premium offering. nytimes.com shortens to http://nyti.ms/1gQdV1r http://nyti.ms/1gQdV1r, Amazon shortens to http://amzn.to/1mCftnd http://amzn.to/1mCftnd, and anything .gov shortens to 1.usa.gov: http://1.usa.gov/1iejWVe http://1.usa.gov/1iejWVe The shortened part is totally interchangable, ie http://bit.ly/1gQdV1r http://bit.ly/1gQdV1r still goes to the NY Times site.
