The one thing that's not very clear, is whether they are focusing on specific high-end cars for this hand-crafter stuff or not. If FLA and such, then this isn't all that novel. Even relatively modestly priced S2000 had a lot of manual labor in the assembly process. (Don't think it had a hand-built crank, but for a 30k that's a bit lavish...)
