Do you own half/part of the company? If he wants you to leave you should still be entitled to half/part of the company, feel free to leave. Do what YOU think is best for the company. <-- If for some reason you've been swindled out of owning half/part (or some portion, equivalent to the start-up split) of the company, I think you have a bigger issue outside the scope of this question.
