Ask HN: A crypto-currency for supporting informal education?
Dear HNers,
I am involved with Funoon (funoonfoundation.org), a non-profit working to organise informal learning spaces. These informal spaces are basically physical spaces where learning happens on a peer-to-peer basis, guided by a mentor/ tutor.
We are brainstorming on how to incentivise talented people to come in and spend an hour or so weekly with a learning group. We can't pay them (at least not to start with), and without a solid incentive, its hard to get things going.
So I am wondering, if its a possibility to create a crypto-currency that solely exists to pay out a small chunk to anyone who comes along to mentor/ tutor at a learning space. My guess is that HN would be an ideal community to enlighten me on this.
