That is, in the same sense that OSS delivers bundles of information about how to do various computational tasks efficiently via source code, HFTs deliver bundles of information about how to value companies efficiently via the ticker tape. In the same way that the source code reveals the genius of the programmer's understanding, the excellance of an HFT is revealed by the report of the ticker tape.
