How did they get the Quake 2 engine? Isn't it commercial closed source? Did Valve paid? Were there other games based on this engine?
- Narishma 13y agoIt's Quake 1, not 2. And yes, Valve among others licensed it, just like people do today with Unreal Engine or Cry Engine.
