There are a lot of abstractions that don't represent anything outside of the framework itself, and a lot of components that interact in non-obvious ways. Also, it seems like finding integration points requires quite a bit of knowledge about how Identity 2 works. The fact that there doesn't seem to be a coherent set of definitive/official documentation describing what and how it works doesn't help either.
