- weixiyen 13y agoNo.
- apetresc 13y agoNope.
- Borogove 13y agoYup. http://tim.dreamwidth.org/1845008.html http://tim.dreamwidth.org/1845008.html
- Sidnicious 13y agoHis (and Mozilla's) handling of the discovery of that donation contributed, AFAIK.
- Jtsummers 13y agoHe supported an anti-gay marriage candidate with campaign contributions. Essentially, if he'd not had the Prop 8 donation, and only the campaign contributions, no one would have made a connection. His donations would've shown that he supported Republican candidates (since he, outside a response to the Prop 8 donation, made no statements regarding gay marriage that anyone ever linked to) and nothing else.
- anaphor 13y agoHow do you know that he donated to these candidates primarily because of their anti-gay rights views anyway? Correlation != causation you know?
- hackuser 13y agoYou would have to ask someone at Mozilla, but his handling of the situation got very poor results. They didn't anticipate it, didn't have a plan (AFIACT), and didn't manage it well once the crisis began. It hurt Mozilla's image and created a distraction from Mozilla's mission among employees and the public. Everyone is discussing Eich and politics; few are discussing FirefoxOS and other initiatives. Part of the CEO's job is to manage all that.
