The reason this illustration works is because it uses concepts that everybody understands and can relate to. If a sketch showed end users asking for features that are simply not logical, but because of reasons that end users can't really understand, then only engineers can understand them, defeating the usefulness of the video in illustrating the frustration that an expert can experience. TL;DR: It's just a metaphor.
