Projects are allowed to use Git instead of Subversion, and there's a workflow in place, as noted in the ticket. Many projects have moved, and many haven't. They seem fairly undogmatic in that aspect.

still i think you would expect the svn project would use svn :D otherwise it's a pretty treacherous admission of a codebase being legacy only
