You do know proposition 8 passed? which means brendan's view corresponded to the majority of voters... support of gay marriage is hardly "public opinion in the USA"
- sehr 13y agoI'd venture to guess it's the majority opinion within the tech community, where all of the backlash seems to have started.
- coldpie 13y agoPolls have been showing majority support since at least 2011, and recent polls have it nearly at 60% supported nationally. The largest effect is the dying off of older homophobes, as youth support is well north of 70%. Opposing gay marriage is a losing issue by any measure, and in another couple of decades we'll look back on these years with the same shame as we do when we discuss black and minority suffrage in the '60s. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Public_opinion_of_same-sex_marriage_in_the_United_States http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Public_opinion_of_same-sex_marr...
