HomestarRunner.com was updated today for the first time in nearly four years.
- northisup 13y agoGood jorb.
- ilozinski 13y agoA jorb well done.
- vezzy-fnord 13y agoNow this is definitely a blast from the past. I had almost completely forgotten about Homestar Runner.
- JoelOtter 13y agoIt reminds me of the days when the internet was something I loved, rather than something I just use.
- DelightfulScone 13y agoDoesn't bring out the same feeling in me, but that is very well put.
- Phlarp 13y agoDelightfulScone: you are shadowbanned.
- foldor 13y agoNow that you mention it, there definitely has been a subtle shift between loving my time with the internet, and just using it. I wonder when that happened?
- JoelOtter 13y agoSocial networks, for me. I miss forums.
- sanderjd 13y agoMine is zombo.com. I still remember how I felt the first time I sat there waiting for this incredible site where I could do anything! The internet was new enough (to me) and amazing enough that I thought it just might be possible that I had stumbled upon a place where the only limit was myself.
- pwang 13y agoI like that the "It is not safe to turn off your computer" is slightly slanted. The Brothers Chaps still have it.
- conkrete 13y agoWelecome to Home Star Wrunner it's Dot Com!
- typicalbender 13y agoWhat was updated?
- robflynn 13y agoThere's an entire new video on the homepage. You have to stare at it for a bit, though.
- foldor 13y agoI fully expected this to be a joke. I was instead pleasantly surprised.
- dang 13y agoUnless I'm missing something, this is off topic for Hacker News. I'm burying the post.
- rickhanlonii 13y agoI don't personally like that you did this, but I think it's the right move and I wholeheartedly support it. The truth is, I only don't like it because homestarrunner.

- dang 13y agoBravo. If everyone here thought like you, HN would be the place we want it to be.
- JoelOtter 13y agoIt's something that's very close to the hearts of a huge number of this site's target readership - but no, it's not really relevant. Apologies if this is considered spamming!
- dang 13y agoNah, spam is different and much worse. Fortunately, it's also easy to identify, and thus (double no-jinx!) it's largely a solved problem on HN. Apology not accepted because not necessary :)
- kderbe 13y agoThanks for being open about your moderation and intent. Folks need to understand that the alternative is not to have Homestar Runner stay on the Hacker News front page (that was never in the cards), but to go back to silent moderation. This is an improvement.
