This article is from last year, it isn't in response to the other UDP/TCP article on the front page published today. I don't know why it was submitted to HN in response to that article, the first one already does a good job describing trade offs and the right role for UDP. It could possibly use one more line: "If it's easier to do so, use TCP to prototype."
