Android apps don't run on an iPhone. Firefox OS apps don't run on an iPhone. Are they doomed? I've waited a few years for the HTML5 app platform future to arrive and I've realized two things. First, it isn't happening, at most someone is going to build a new app platform partly out of old bits and pieces and that will have questionable uptake. Second, as far as we do get there the result will still not be clearly better than "native apps." So I am not waiting for the HTML5 future to save us all from native apps any more.
