Abnormalities in a kid do not instantly indicate a disorder. Yet doctors are quick to prescribe adderall to the first person that comes in their office and claims they have "trouble concentrating".
- indiv0 13y agoOverprescription is of course a serious problem in the developed world, but that doesn't mean that doctors are using autism as a catch-all diagnosis. There are specific, medical criteria which need to be met for a diagnosis, and these criteria are outlined in the DSM V [1].
