How stupid. Microsoft pays a bunch of people who invented a bunch of ideas that are now restricted from being used. What a joke the patent system is. We're paying people to innovate ideas, and prevent any product with those ideas from coming to market. Patent holders should have to pay a substantial tax / fee every year to keep their patents. If these ideas are so valuable, they should be building products and benefiting society with them. Not stuffing them under the mattress and waiting to sue some poor sap who actually wants to ship something.
