I see how being one of the first, who succeeds leading the others is to hard to do for most people. What i do not get is, why she does not use her flexibility

I see how being one of the first, who succeeds leading the others is to hard to do for most people. What i do not get is, why she does not use her flexibility as a weapon against the unfair system. She obviously planned to change it, why not attack from another angle? Why not consider switching to another university or even take the chance and visit another country. There must be a competent professor in organic chemistry with more divers graduates somewhere in the world, where she could have an unfair advantage. Get a Phd there, gain superpowers, come back and defeat the evil villains.
