When GNOME 3 came out, I was upset and hated it. Then I moved on to running i3 without a DE and I don't think I am using a DE again. It's surprising how little features of a DE I need. Right now, I have nothing that requires a DE.
- massysett 13y agoThe only thing I miss is power management and buttons. I get tired of futzing around to get my brightness buttons to work, and then a newer kernel changes the interfaces again.
- middleclick 13y agoI must admit I am not doing power management of any sorts. For brightness, I use xbacklight and it works pretty well.
