There are a few options: 1) work for a boss who you respect 2) work for a manager who let you be your own boss most of the time 3) be your own boss - either start your own startup, or consulting And on a side note, most people care about what's in it for themselves. The fact that you see bullshit coming from them means you are not understanding what they think. It's an important life/leadership skill to understand how different people operate, what motivates them, etc.
