No need to pay cut. Just tell them you want to test this option and they will see the same results. Remote work isn't a new thing. Lots of companies do it, why they won't do it? I arranged with an old job to do this: work from home, 1 day per week i go to the office. It worked well till the point i didn't have to go too much to office.
