These bans were first put in place to ensure there'd be local service shops available from dealerships, I believe.
- toomuchtodo 13y agoThe bans were initially put in place to protect the investments made by dealerships from being nullified by a manufacturer setting up shop and competing with them. It has no purpose when the manufacturer has no dealership agreements to begin with.
