How likely a scenario RNG compromise is really?
- tptacek 13y agoThat doesn't compromise more important aspects of the target? Very unlikely. Still, it's something you want covered. Note that the paper doesn't say Fortuna is worthless against compromised state; just that optimization techniques can be used to build an RNG that handles the problem better.
- edwintorok 13y agoIt might be a problem if your device doesn't have enough entropy sources early on when it generates its SSH host keys, like a router for example, although there were some improvements in random number generation on MIPS lately: https://factorable.net/ https://factorable.net/
