You should use your own Bitcoin address (from coinbase, blockchain.info, or Bitcoin client). We generate a default BTC address (using the same passphrase/private-key) for people who don't already have bitcoin addresses.
- cauterize 13y agoIs there a way to get the Namecoin transaction id? I'm curious to watch it's progression.
- muneeb 13y agoYes, we plan to email you links to blockchain explorers in the future, so that you can track how your profile is being registered on the blockchain!
- gphil 13y agoI think you should put a note on the form to explain this, I had the same confusion as the parent commenter.
- rxl 13y agoOk we will clarify this, thanks for the feedback.
- troymc 13y agoI didn't have a pre-existing Bitcoin address; I signed up for a OneName account mainly to claim the handle that I prefer to use online. I now have a Bitcoin address, but is it just pretend? Or what? Perplexed.
- rxl 13y agoYou can get the private key for the bitcoin address we created for you by calculating the sha256 of the passphrase you wrote down. We're working on improving this process and in the mean time we'll clarify further. Thanks!
- xerophtye 13y agoI dint get one :/ just a long list of errors after submitting my email at the bottom. On of which was "Bit coin address required"
- thomaszander 13y agoWhat do you mean, you generate a default address? Where is that wallet located? Are you a wallet supplier on that website too?
