Several of my graduate math professors sometimes failed at solving Calculus problems on the board because they made a mistake somewhere and couldn't evaluate an integral. In Bio classes, almost everyone used Powerpoint. Those who did the blackboard approach had the worst lectures mostly because they wrote down very little and just talked about concepts.
