For List types, you still need the (incomplete) https://ghc.haskell.org/trac/ghc/wiki/OverloadedLists https://ghc.haskell.org/trac/ghc/wiki/OverloadedLists work to make ListLike structures have a friendly syntax, but today you could cobble something almost-readable like [ R 0 , [ R 1 , R 2 ] ]
