Your boss can't unilaterally lower your salary. You had an agreement to do X work for Y pay, and if he/she wants to change Y you need to agree. If you are in the US, don't quit. Instead send an email (important to get this in writing) that you reject the proposed lower salary. There's a lot of missing info here. In general, if your boss is trying to get you to quit, you're probably better off getting laid off or fired instead. Also, immediately start looking for a new job.
