I suppose that one of the benefits of not drinking coffee is not needing to worry about all of this. The lunch room at the office has a Keurig machine and it gets jammed a lot because of the air pressure differential (Denver is at 5200 feet). If you don't properly puncture the package when you insert it, the air pressure causes something to go wrong and the machine jams up.
