My college friend worked on an electric skateboard that looked cool like that: http://frankschmitt.org/projects/powerboard http://frankschmitt.org/projects/powerboard It has strain gauges that let you control it by shifting your weight. Looks cool yet there is no visible effort so it's a little surprising.
