Hmm, I wonder if smartphones could "easily" switch to IPv6?
- wmf 13y agoThey already did.
- mhurron 13y agoDepends on the OS https://sites.google.com/site/tmoipv6/lg-mytouch https://sites.google.com/site/tmoipv6/lg-mytouch (For T-Mobile, I believe AT&T also has IPv6 available) Also depends on correct instructions, the linked PDF (under screenshots) there is correct, the instructions at that link do not appear to work. As for wifi, I can't say, my AP doesn't pass RA's so none of my wireless clients configure to IPv6. Time to add it to the list of stuff to upgrade.
- tedchs 13y agoFor 4G (WiMax / LTE), Verizon requires devices to support IPv6. My Moto X is dual-stack, with a public IPv6 address and a private 10/8 IPv4 address. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/4G#IPv6_support http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/4G#IPv6_support
- danyork 13y agoMany of them already do. My iPhone works wonderfully on my IPv6 home network and connects to sites over IPv6 without a problem. I know this is true for some Android devices as well.
