Which development tools?
- nhebb 13y agoThey dropped the setup project (deployment). If they had dropped the development tools from VS, I'm not not sure what would be left. [edited (twice) for clarity]
- jongalloway2 13y agoSorry, misread. Which deployment tools are you missing?
- junto 13y agoSetup deployment projects went wayward in VS2012. The 3rd party incumbent company suggested by MS is charging for an underwhelming product as an alternative replacement.
- Renaud 13y agoThe templates for building setup projects. Even though it was limited, it was very useful. I lost a fair number of days trying to rebuild setups from scratch using other solutions.
- locusm 13y agoWhat happens when VS2013 hasnt been used for a while then whilst being offline you fire it up? Im referring to requiring a login here... whats the expected behaviour?
- d0 13y agoIt doesn't do that. I clicked "not now" and never signed in. That was weeks ago.
- locusm 13y agoCurrently on an offline machine I cannot use VS 2013, I get a modal with the only option being "Exit Visual Studio". Last time I used VS was 22/12/2013. This is really fucked IMHO.
- d0 13y agoExpress or Pro?
- locusm 13y agoUltimate 2013 http://www.pixbin.us/tottg0 http://www.pixbin.us/tottg0
- d0 13y agoMy 2013 Pro from MSDN doesn't do anything like that. Edit: I just span up a copy fo the virtual machine snapshot and it didn't say anything even though that had been technically not used and has no network connection.
- locusm 13y agoThe fact they say it expires in "Int32.MaxValue" days is worrisome. But hey those stale licenses, we gotta fuck those guys up...
- d0 13y agoYeah that sucks. I wish you luck with that and will keep my eyes peeled for issues here. We gave 50 seats so trouble like this would be nice to avoid.
- locusm 13y agoIt would seem that if you have a partner license your royally screwed. http://www.itwriting.com/blog/8075-visual-studio-license-expired-not-what-you-want-to-see-just-before-boarding-a-flight.html/ http://www.itwriting.com/blog/8075-visual-studio-license-exp...
