  despite being 150 years old, from what I've heard about BBVA, they seem to be making a real push to be innovative. They've fairly recently moved all of their staff onto Google Apps which is an interesting move. The way I see it, someone has looked at their online/mobile banking, and said "what can we do better here? what are other people in the industry doing?" and seen the way Simple operates, and the general satisfaction of their customers. It'll be interesting to see what happens from here
