I disagree. I think hacker news serves as a great platform for the community to benefit from what other members have found works. There are countless postings, whether they relate to CSS, analytics tactics, or tips like Dustin's "follow me on twitter here" that we all benefit from. I recently shared tips from my personal experience running a small e-commerce, and I hope some members get actual value and implement some of my findings.
