seems like a good thing for bitcoin that this happened. sure - it could be a flaw in the bitcoin protocol. but could just be "there's no honor among thieves". at least when criminals exchange cash for illegal goods, there's always the possibility of in-person retribution since you know who you're dealing with. in anonymous situations for illicit goods, you don't know who you are dealing with, who you can trust, and whose kneecaps to break if they cheat you. so hey - stick to cash for the illegal stuff. let the rest of us have bitcoin for convenience.
